Bargaining
Hello everyone: Here's a short synopsis of the time lines and the process of bargaining for those people who do not know. If you require the full details or more information you can obtain them from the central website - opseu.org. 1. April - Participation of members - completion of the surveys 2. May - tally of the surveys and Local Demand setting meeting discuss issues, set bargaining priorities (top 10) elect delegates to represent local at regional bargaining conference (Bellville) 3. June - Regional conference discuss issues and forward issues to central research election of delegates to sit on central/Unified & Correctional negotiation teams (Toronto) 4. Nov - Negotiations with employer begin. There are two elected bargaining teams: - Central/Unified: The Central/Unified has 15 members - Correctional: The Correctional team has 7 members. To be elected to the bargaining team you must have been a Steward for at least 6 months prior to the election. Again if I have not reached everyone in your work location please forward this to them.
